CURRENT OPPORTUNITY: Great North Greats Exhibition Stewards
We're looking for people to join our team of enthusiastic volunteers to help steward our Great North Greats exhibition at Discovery Museum from August to October 2015.
Great North Greats is an exhibition celebrating the North East. It tells the story of individuals and communities, everyday triumphs and groundbreaking achievements.
We need volunteers for our exhibition at Discovery Museum (15 August - 18 October 2015) and duties will include: stewarding the exhibition, welcoming visitors and supporting our marketing team with audience research and development.
Whether you've an hour a week or a day a week (or more!) to spare, we'd love to hear from you.
All volunteers will be trained by Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums in object handling, liaising with visitors, and assisting with audience research.
If you fancy being part of our team, download the application pack by clicking here. This will give you details on the kind of things you'll be doing as a volunteer and how to apply.
SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY: Great North Run, Onward Together As One
We're looking for people to volunteer for one day only - Sunday 13 September 2015: the day of the Great North Run. You will be required to invigilate a brand new piece of art work that will be installed in strategic points around the route of the run.
The art work, called Onward Together As One, has been created by Northumbria University Fine Art graduates Hope Stebbing and Oliver Perry and is large, letter sculptures spelling out a message of inspiration to thousands of runners as they make their way through the 13.1 mile route.
The invigilators of this art work will be required to be outside, with the artwork on Sunday 13 September and will be an integral part of our project team on the day.
If you are able to donate a day of your time and are interested in being part of this occasion, please email Beatriz Clemente.
